Biography
Dr. Ciara Harraher is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. She is also a clinical professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and leads the Stanford Neurosurgery Outreach Clinic in Santa Cruz.
Dr. Harraher’s practice encompasses all aspects of general neurosurgery. She primarily diagnoses and treats brain tumors, degenerative spine conditions, pinched nerves, and trauma to the brain and spine. She delivers personalized, compassionate care to each of her patients.
Her À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ interests include a range of neurosurgery outcomes, and she is a co-investigator on a clinical trial related to surgical management of stroke. She has co-authored several papers on the topics of vascular disorders, spine conditions, and brain tumor management. She has been invited to speak nationally on issues related to leadership and diversity in neurosurgery.
Dr. Harraher has published her À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ in World Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurological Surgery Reports, Neuro-Oncology, and other peer-reviewed journals. She has presented to her peers at national, state, and regional meetings, including the annual meetings of the Western Neurosurgical Society and Mazama Spine Summit.
Dr. Harraher holds leadership positions in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Council of State Neurosurgical Societies, Western Neurosurgical Society, and California Association of Neurological Surgeons. She also serves on the board of the California Medical Association and is an invited member of the Neurosurgical Society of America.
